The
Cuba Street Carnival - New
Zealand's largest street party -
is back - this year it will be
bigger and better than ever.
There will be so much activity in
and around Cuba Street that State
Highway 1 (Vivian and Ghuznee
Streets) will close for the
weekend of 27-29 February 2004.
The carnival will run for 48 hours
- and be spread across 2
kilometres and 12 stages and
entertainment areas. Top bands in
all genres, cultural performances,
buskers, market stalls and a few
surprises will comprise the
largest carnival to date.
The highlight will be the
illuminated Night Parade on
Saturday 28 February - it was
enjoyed by an estimated 90, 000
spectators and participants at the
last Carnival in 2002.
